New things are happening.

I am working on some new projects. being a busy little bee. I'm currently working on a dog calender with proceeds going to local non profit animal shelters. hopefully a benefit show with Shepherds and prints of the doggy portraits for sale at said benefit. Might I also add that my boyfriend is in this band. ANYWAY.

I'm also working on website images for the lovely Ms. Sommer Melody. More info about that later in the month.

Maybe I should go into more detail of what my Georgia Series is all about. As I haven't done that yet and I've alluded to it several times.

The Georgia series is about exploring the feelings of backwoods spirituality. This other side of Atlanta that I see, where it is culturally more like swampy Louisiana than like some sort of southern mecca. There's a thick feeling of Voodoo here.

Since i haven't produced anything in a week or so, i'll pull up an ole skool pic. I took this when I was 16. fuck yeah and developed it all myself too.

An Open Letter to my 35mm

oh you, Minolta maxxum 7000 35mm, a classic slr camera. you were at the height of technology 25 years ago. and you are still known for your soft and dreamy images. Sony tried to woo you away from me, dangled a carrot of $200 off their digital slr if only I gave you up. But, I'm no sell out. like a teenager's beloved first car; I will ride you until the wheels fall off. Until your shutter closes too slowly and your flash unit no longer communicates with your body. Until your batteries corrode within your housing. until you become completely unreliable... and when no one in the first world develops film anymore......even then I will still keep you safely tucked away on my bookshelf. Keep you there as a reminder of when your entire photographic process wasn't whittled down to an iphone app.

Fresh Flicks and Old Kicks.

These were my once beloved, still a little adored Reebok freestyle sneakers. I would wear them more but they don't look that good under skirts and dresses and that's all I seem to wear these days.

So lets put on our classics and have a little dance shall we? These images were inspired by a couple of things. 1) my weird fascination with the bottom half of the body in art. How much can you tell about a person without showing their face? 2) Macro photography: its usually better close up 3) Texture. Touch.

I Just Can't Get Enough.

Now I know I don't have it together enough for a daily self portrait, but maybe I can manage a weekly one? Lets see how long this can be kept up.

eh, a little noisy but i just love the expression here. I need to get a zoom lens for my digital camera asap.




Getting back to what I like best. She was good, and super easy to photograph. I have so many good ones Its hard to choose.
